La ciudad de Avellaneda (ubicada en la zona sur del Conurbano bonaerense) se caracteriza por sus políticas e instituciones culturales activas e inclusivas y la variada oferta cultural. La gestión municipal actual (cuyo intendente desde 2009 responde al Frente para la Victoria)se distingue, además, por la amplia oferta de espacios culturales y por promover la participación ciudadana. La actividad musical independiente suele realizarse en condiciones materiales desfavorables, las cuales empeoraron luego de la Tragedia de Cromañón. Desde entonces, muchos músicos independientes se organizaron en pos de obtener políticas que mejoren y fomenten la actividad musical. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el vínculo político que asumen los músicos independientes de rock en Avellaneda. A través de un abordaje cualitativo se trabajó con entrevistas, observación participante y notas y artículos periodísticos.
